Accessing data using your copy of ferret

DODS allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into ferret use
set data "http://digilib.icpac.net/SOURCES/.ENACTS/.version0/.WASP/.queriesENACTS/.provincequery/str1_year/1+index/.adm1_name/2+index/.adm0_name/%5Bprovince+%5Daverage/3+index/.coarse_geom/4+index/.str1_year/5+index/.adm1_code/6+index/.exp1_year/7+index/.the_geom/8+index/.adm0_code/9+index/.shape_area/shape_area/dods"
If ferret refuses to read the file, saying
** netCDF error: Invalid Argument
is this a CDF file ?
it is quite possible that you can use set data after you download the netcdf file.

If you have questions, comments, or problems please use the help@iri link. This page will evolve as we learn more about how Ferret handles data downloads, and your help pointing out problems is much appreciated.

There is a bug in ferret which is corrected in release 6.0 (see notes about "nonstandard calendar axes"). Please upgrade if you are using monthly data.
