Can I select data from only the most recent time increment?

Yes, there is an Ingrid command that will retrieve data from the most recent time increment included in a dataset.

This command is particular useful for datasets that continuously being updated. For this example. let's demonstrate how you can retrieve the most recent sea surface temperature data from the Reynolds Smith v2 dataset. This example begins with the dataset and data variable already selected. 1. Click on the Data Selection link in the Function Bar. Check Step
2. Put the following text in place of the text already in the Time range box. Then click the "Restrict Ranges" button.

   last

   The most recent time increment included in the dataset is now indicated in the grey box at the top of the page.
3. Click the "Stop Selecting" button. Check Step

   Note the use of the word "last" in the URL for this page. You can use this same URL at any time in the future to select data from the most recent time increment.

4. To view these data select one of the Views icons in the function bar. To download these data select the Data Files or Tables link in the Function Bar. You can find more information about these options in Part III of the Data Library Tutorial.
