Oct-Dec Intra-seasonal Forecast

This Maproom shows October-December intra-seasonal variability forecast on a rolling yearly basis.

Predictions of key characteristics of the upcoming growing season are presented in this Maproom: the onset and cessation dates, the length of the growing season, and the maximum length of dry and wet spells. These characteristics are critical to agricultural planification and to the quality and quantity of agricultural output.

The default map shows, for the latest forecast made, the predicted onset date for the upcoming Oct-Dec season. Users can use the Variable menu to select other predicted variables:

• Onset Date: start of the growing season
• Cessation Date: end of the growing season
• Growing Season Length: length in days of the growing season, between onset and cessation dates.
• Maximum Length of Dry/Wet Spells: length in days of the longest spell to be found during the growing season.
